Along the edge of the Albian Sands Muskeg River Mine tar pond. The tar ponds are ringed by gentle sandy slopes over which the effluent poured into them fans into fascinating alluvial patterns. This tar pond is part of the Athabasca Oil Sands Project a joint venture among Shell Canada (60%), Chevron Canada (20%) and Marathon Oil Canada (20%).
